Our Little Cupcake is ONE!!

Ok...get ready for a LOT of pictures! I started planning Burke's party pretty early. You all know how I am a planner. I would seriously love to be a wedding planner or party planner for a job except that people would get on my nerves. If they would just give me a theme, some cash, and turn me loose...I'd be good. Anyway, I started planning around the time my friend, Katie started planning for Landon's party (before January sometime...). I found LOADS of stuff from Oriental Trading. I also bought all my balloons online and did them myself. I think I got them from Birthday Express or something. They are LOADS cheaper than getting them in a store. I was an old balloon pro back in my high school days so I have so say that my bouquets kicked butt!

Here is little Burkey checking out her new chair when she got up on Party Morning.
The kitchen spread. BTW, we had a cupcake theme. Notice the cupcake handtowels hanging from the chairs. I scored many cupcake plates, bowls, towels from Kohl's on sale after Valentine's Day.

A closer view. My friend, Tiffany, crafted her name that I have in tiny cupcake placecard holders! Chinese lanterns courtesy of Oriental Trading. I made the feather centerpieces with stuff from Hobby Lobby. The cake stand was from my sister. It rotates, lights up, and sings Happy Birthday. I added tulle to the cupcake stand. Finally, I bought a sign that said, Burke's 1st Birthday (it's laying in front of the placecard holders) from Etsy.

This is a cupcake shaped cake from the Blue Cake Company. We didn't cut into at the party but did later and it was FAB! Isn't it the cutest??!!

The cupcakes! Also from Blue Cake. We did white cake with strawberry frosting (with real strawberries mixed in...SO good) and strawberry cake with white buttercream. I didn't get a close-up of the cake toppers but they match the 1st Birthday Sign from Etsy!

The birthday banner...courtesy of crafty Tiffany! SO cute!

The 'present opening station'...notice the cupcake shaped balloon that says 1st Birthday! Burke is not into feather boas yet but you can get them at Oriental Trading for like $1.99 vs. $8 at Hobby Lobby! And they are 6 footers!!

The highchair ready to go for Smash Cake Time. More cupcake shaped balloons, the party hat, candle, and cute sign...again made by Tiff!

A close-up...LOVE it!

The formal dining room spread! More chinese lanterns, a balloon bouquet, dum-dum topiaries. So I totally didn't come up with the topiaries on my own. I saw them online but I DID make those suckers (no pun intended) myself! They take a while when you have short patience. I bought the supplies from Hobby Lobby and the suckers from Oriental Trading. I thought they turned out cute...but what do I do with them now?? You can't tell in the picture but I found two super cute cupcake themed frames that I intend to put her birthday pictures in. I also drapped the table with tulle and cupcake cut-outs. We also attempted to put the cutouts up the stairs that lead to the house...the wind blew them around but ya'll got the picture.

The entryway decor...more balloon bouquets and chinese lanterns. Ben, Burke's middle bro, helped me with the balloons. He was the 'clipper' and helped me spread the hi-float!

The front door sign...again, made by Tiff! It says, 'Our Little Cupcake is One!'

The whole view of the front door. Another balloon bouquet and a blow-up cupcake!! I love that cupcake! It comes with another banner that just says happy birthday so I justified buying it since we can technically use it again! It blows up just like those Christmas snowmen and things.

She LOVES a get-together! I don't think she realized it was for her though! Again, her eyes are closed due to her cheesy grin...not b/c of the timing of the picture! Oh yeah, check out that cute cupcake dress!!

So this is a horrible picture of me but...mommy and the birthday girl? Does she look like me or her Daddy???

Oops...I grabbed the wrong pic of the three of us. Oh well, my eyes are closed. Melis...move back to AR!!!

A little blurry but the birthday girl getting ready for some cake!!

The smash cake!

She LOVES fire. I know, I know...a pyro! She loved my mom and dad's fireplace this winter. So in this picture, she is loving the candle!

So in this picture, I had just blown out the candle (before the birthday song was over) b/c she was going in for a fire grab. She does NOT like the smoke!!

Yeah, cake and singing! Two of my favorites!

Mommy had to give her the first bite b/c she was too busy to eat that day. That was the first and last bite.

Poppy feeding her ice cream. My dad is CRAZY about her!

Excited to open presents!!

This is her buddy, Landon. Sorry Landon but we didn't have our normal photo shoot with you. You were such a good boy and didn't ever get down into any of the shots!

Allison, enjoying herself with Burke's new vanity. A Walgreens find people!

Cousin Barrett helping Burke out. Barrett LOVES Burke and always asks where his Burkey is!

Braden eating some ice cream since he boycotted the pink cupcakes. Sorry your eyes were closed buddy.

YAY! A purse!

Very interested in her stuff!

A new book! (Could I have found a picture of myself with a bigger double chin??!!)

Yay, forks!! I love forks! (She really does!)

What's in that present over there mommy?!

Well, I think that about does it for our birthday celebration pictures! I forgot to get pictures of the big spread of food and the yard signs! Darn! But I think you get the idea! Dan asked if I have already started planning for next year. I haven't started planning but I AM thinking of a theme!
