Yum!!!

So last night we ate Spaghetti. As all parents know, this is one of, if not the most, messy foods a kid can eat. But they all love it! Burke is no different. We stripped her down and let her have it! She would pack fists full of meat into her mouth; we were so cracked up! She didn't even eat her bread last night, and she usually loves bread, because she was too busy chowing down on the spaghetti. She will even eat the noodles. BUT, a thin spaghetti noodle is the only kind she'll eat. She doesn't like ravioli, macaroni, penne noodles, etc. She spits those out every time.

As you can see from her tray...pretty much all the food on her plate is now on the tray.
Look mommy, spaghetti! (And would you look at that hand!!)
A noodle! (I was afraid her face would be stained permanently!)

Picking a noodle off her belly! It's a great noodle catcher!

I mean, seriously! Does it get any worse? (Actually, I've seen it in kids' hair so yes it does!)

I love watching her eat! I think it's so cute!

Easter Activities!!

This weekend our neighborhood held their annual Easter Activities! It was our first year to participate in any event at the POA since we moved in October. They have lots of activities for the residents (adults and kids) throughout the year. For Easter they had a petting zoo, egg hunt, jelly bean jar guess (whatever you call it!), snacks, the Easter Bunny himself, and pictures with Joel's Photography. I was so excited and told Dan while we were loading Burke into the car that I was nervous! He died laughing, said I was crazy, and called Burke, Jon Benet! Egg hunts always make me nervous, what can I say?! Anyway, everthing started at 10:00 which is B's prime napping time. So I wondered how she would do but ended up doing pretty good. We left after 30 minutes but got everything in. Get ready for loads of pictures...

Here we are at the Egg Hunt. Burke is not so sure about all the people.

Daddy getting her set.
Burke wanting Daddy to hold her!

All the kiddos getting ready. Burke was in the 3 and under line. However, I was standing next to a grandma (?) that was YELLING at her kid to 'GET ALL THE EGGS! GET ALL OF THEM!!' Dan took the opposite approach and capped Burke off at about 10 eggs and said 'she's got enough.'

I think she's going to participate now folks!

Wait, she decided to hunt from Daddy's arms. Isn't her basket too cute?!

Now she's considering it again. Mommy had a quick practice session with some eggs at home before we left. I think she's remembering what she's supposed to do in this picture.

Not a good picture but she was pointing at an egg in this one. My zoom is SO slow on my camera and I couldn't pull it back in time to catch the point!

This is fun afterall!!

She loves to watch people. She liked that more than anything there!

Yay! Easter is fun!

Family shot!

Now we get to the petting zoo. Here is the pony. We didn't stay for the rides with him.

The pig...Jimmy Dean (I swear!).

Checking out the baby chick.

She liked it!!

The bunny...she was pregnant....and probably didn't appreciate being held this way.

Burke is not so sure of the man with the hat ("Uncle Harry") all up in her personal space.

A pigmie (sp?) goat. This was 5 weeks old and seriously 'cried' like a baby!! Pardon the scary lady (sorry if that's anyone's mom).

Ok, enough with the animals!! She had enough with the calf (who didn't make the whole picture).

THE Easter Bunny! Like she was going to let him hold her!

Eating some chocolate cake ball that she scored after her pictures with Joel.

Chocolate lips and one tear from her right eye. We went straight home and took a nap!

Well, we had SO much fun! I can't wait for next weekend when the Easter Bunny hides her some more eggs and brings her basket!

Tiffany's 30TH Birthday!!

This weekend me and two of my college roomies met for Tiffany's 30th birthday! We ate at our favorite spot, Cozymel's, then went to Ang's new house for some cake! The other two girls had their husbands but I, once again, was ditched for the band!!! (Dan if you're reading) So, I brought my favorite girl along so that everyone could have a chance to hear her scream first hand!! (She's a drama queen) She may have been about to in the background of this first picture!

Here we are! I'm not really that much taller...I just had on major high shoes!

Ang, 'modeling' the cake.
A better shot of the cake. Seriously people...BLUE CAKE COMPANY!! They are the best! This cake was delicious!!

Glad we were able to get together girls! We'll have to do it more often...maybe next time I will have a husband! (Dan, are you reading??!!)

Wye Mountain

So this weekend I loaded up three of the four kids and my mom and we went to Wye Mountain. For those of you readers outside of Arkansas, Wye Mountain is known for their Daffodil Festival. It is about 15-20 minutes outside of Little Rock and every year LOADS of people come to take pictures in this big field full of daffodils. They have a concession stand and a craft barn and it's run by some little old country church. I saw several people there speaking foreign languages so it's a bit of a tourist attraction for the nature lovers. Anyway, here are tons of pictures.

Me, Burke, and my mom. Burke is pointing at something or someone.

An attempt at a mother/daughter shot.
Another attempt...
Success!!

Again, pointing. She points at EVERYTHING!! This is her signature 'You're so funny' point. Meaning, whoever she was pointing at did something that cracked her up.

This is Ben, Stone, Burke, and Sam. Who is Stone you ask...he was a random. He and/or Burke kept waving at each other so he came over for some pictures. I got several as did his mother.

Burke and two of her brothers.

Again, someone was funny!

As you can tell from this picture, there are daffodils everywhere!!

Such a cutie!! BTW, she does NOT like grass on her bare feet!

Excited about something. There WERE tons of people around and she LOVES people so I'm sure she was trying to get someones attention.

Another shot of us.

Good one of mom and B.

SO cute!!!

Another cute one...

I just realized these are starting to all look the same...sorry!

I took 91 pictures that day!!

Well, that about sums it up! We drove about 40 minutes and only stayed like 20! But the pictures turned out great and the weather was perfect!

Jealousy, UTIs, & Cheez-Its

Random title, I know, but I had three different stories to tell! One, we went to a Bridal Shower this weekend. There was the cutest 2 month old baby there! Burke was sitting on the loveseat in between me and one of my cousins just minding her business. My cousin passes me the baby and I say, 'Awww, sweet baby.' Burke YELLS, gets up and starts to pry my arm off the baby! I'm pretty sure she threw a 'No!' in there too! At her party she acted a tinge jealous of me holding Landon but not really a big deal. Well, she was obviously NOT liking me holding this baby! Does that rule out another kid in my future??!!

Two, Burke has another UTI!!!! UGH!! She started running a fever late Thursday night, and Friday she was feeling pretty lousy with high fever and stinky pee-pee. They always have her pee in a bag at the dr and this time you could actually SEE little white floaties in her pee. Meaning, it's a pretty bad infection. Anyway, the culture came back today and I am waiting to hear from her specialist to see if this is any cause for concern. I imagine not but that it will mean she will be put back on a daily, preventative antibiotic. Dang those megaureters! We had an ultrasound done in January and everything was almost back to normal size. But, it's only been 5 months since her surgery and I'm sure it will just take some time for her to keep healing. It WAS a major surgery (4 hours and 6 nights in the hospital people! Don't forget!) Anyway, she is definitely better but still running a low grade fever. Poor girl! On Friday when she was so sick she still managed to wave at everyone she saw...my brother, the little girl in the waiting room, the cars that pull up beside us at the stop lights. What a sweetie!

And third...this picture is evidence of what kids do when you ignore them for a few minutes. Dan and I were digging through all the boys baby photos this weekend. She was sitting behind me on the couch 'playing' quietly. I treasured those 10 minutes of not having to pull pictures out of her grubby little hands! Well, when I turned around this is what I found...

Poor girl's cheek was red from the fever. Thankfully, Cheez-Its don't leave a big greasy blob on the couch! I should have known though...all forms of crackers are crunched up by this girl!
